For a walking or cycling tour, Campsite KNAUS Walkenried offers plenty of opportunities to discover the beautiful surroundings of the Harz region on foot or by bicycle from the campsite. This area has over 200 km of cycling and walking routes! Would you like to cycle or walk in a different area? All campsites are located in beautiful green surroundings – providing the perfect opportunity to enjoy cycling or walking everywhere!

Swimming Fun & Water Sports

Want to enjoy swimming during your vacation? Most of our campsites have an indoor and/or outdoor pool, but don’t forget about the lakes in Germany. The country is known for its beautiful lakes, some of which are in the middle of the mountains. Here you can swim, but also practice various water sports: windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, canoeing, and fishing. At Campsite Wingst KNAUS there is even a nice bathing and fishing lake with a sandy beach available! Campsite Altmühltal is located directly on the river Altmühl. From the campsite you get directly into a canoe for a beautiful canoe trip.

Largest Wine Festival in the World

For wine lovers, Rent-a-Tent has a number of charming campsites in various wine regions. From Campsite KNAUS Bad Dürkheim, visit Pfalz, which is known as Germany's largest wine-growing region. Here you will also find the largest beer barrel in the world and the “Bad Dürkheimer Wurstmarkt”, the largest wine festival in the world. Campsite KNAUS Mosel / Burgen has a beautiful location on the popular Moselle River.

UNESCO World Heritage Site

In addition to Pfalz, Germany has many other fantastic places that you can visit from the campsite. From Campsite KNAUS Viechtach, visit the city of Regensburg, one of the better-preserved medieval cities and one of the oldest cities in Germany. The old center and the Stadtamhof district have even been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can also admire the Regensburger Dom, Castle Sankt Emmeram, the old town hall, various churches, and much more in the city. This is not the only city you can visit from the campsite - all our campsites are close to pleasant villages or towns!
