Water fun
Enjoy hours of swimming fun in the swimming paradise with water slides at camping Les Ecureuils. The aqua park includes a heated swimming pool, a waterfall, a jacuzzi, a separate area for small children with fun water games and several slides! At the pool you can enjoy the sun and the warm weather, but even in less weather you can enjoy a refreshing dip, as one of the swimming pools can be covered. During high season, the campsite's animation team organizes various fun water activities, including water polo and aqua gym!
Animation and activities
An entertainment program is organized at the campsite for young and old! During the day there are various fun activities such as archery and various sports tournaments. Shows, discos and games are organized in the evening and there is a special mini club for the youngest children. Sports enthusiasts can also enjoy their holiday. For example, they can play tennis on the tennis court and can use the trampolines and table tennis tables. The camping site also has a volleyball field and a multi-sports field, where football can be played!
Enjoy the beautiful nature of the Pays de la Loire! Explore the area by mountain bike or by electric bike, rent a canoe or kayak or visit the beach where you can sail and surf among other things. You can also fish for mussels and various shellfish on the beach at low tide.

After a day of activities you can enjoy a refreshing drink in the bar, while the children can enjoy themselves in the play room with video games, billiards and table football. In the area of Vendee, there is so much to do you could not name it all.
Campsite Les Écureuils is only a few hundred yards from the village centre. Here you can enjoy the terraces, restaurants or one of the many shops. Two times a week in this city centre there is a fun, lively market, where one can buy all sorts of products. It is definitely fun to walk over the market and see what they have to offer!
Other things to do in La Bernerie-en-Retz and surroundings include Dolmen ancient ruins, libraries, vineyards, cathedrals, cooking classes and theme parks!
Around 3.7 miles (6 km.) away is the fishers port of Pornic. We recommend to go visit this port as it shows the true France. In Noirmoutier there is the Océanile Parc Aquatique with lot of thrilling slides and waterfun.
We also recommend to visit the city of Nantes, a city full of culture, art and history!
Planète Sauvage is also recommended, which is a 25-minute drive from the campsite. This protected nature reserve is the home of more than 1000 animals and 150 species of animals.
Don't forget Puy du Fou, the historic amusement park that is about 1.5 hours drive from the campsite. There are shows all day long with, among others, Vikings and Romans. It is one of the best theme parks in Europe.
The area is also excellent for cycling.
