Enjoy the lake at Les Cantarelles family campsite!
The cozy family campsite Les Cantarelles is located on Lake Villefranche-de-Panat in a green landscape. The 3-star campsite is located in the heart of the French department of Aveyron, just north of Montpellier. The campsite is a good base for families who like to stay in the middle of nature and want to be active there. Camping Les Cantarelles offers it all and is therefore a great destination for families with children who love nature, lakes, canyons and mountains, but also peace and quiet.
Entertainment on the water
Camping Les Canterelles offers direct access to the beach of Lake Villefranche-de-Panat. Take a dip in the lake or splash in the heated outdoor pool. On the lake you can practice many water sports such as paddling, pedal boating, fishing, windsurfing, water skiing, kayaking or snorkeling. Or take a walk around the lake on the pontoons. Around the pool there is a small sunbathing lawn with free sunbeds. Here you can relax and enjoy the view over the lake.
Sports and animation
Stay in shape during your holiday on the outdoor fitness equipment. The children can get to know each other and have fun with each other at the table tennis table and table football. During the high season (July till August) there is the Bungat children's club from Monday to Friday for children from 6 to 12 years old. Here they meet the camping mascot Bungat. Come with the whole family to the family afternoon or encourage your children during the sports afternoons. Throw a ball during a game of jeu de Boule on the court. Three times a week an activity is planned in the evening for young and old.
Many facilities
You can certainly go to the campsite for a delicious meal. The restaurant with bar is open every Friday and Saturday evening in the preseason. From July to the end of August you can go to the restaurant every evening and there is also a snack bar for a small bite in between. There is also a mini-supermarket on the campsite where you can get some groceries. If you want to freshen up your clothes, you can go to the launderette. WiFi at the campsite is subject to payment.

What to do in the vicinity of campsite Les Cantarelles?
- The castle of Belcastel
- Canoeing and kayaking on the Tarn River
- Climbing in the Parc des Grands Causses
- View the special architecture of the Milau Viaduct
- Medieval village of Brousse-Le-Château
The historic center of Rodez is approximately 40 km from the Les Cantarelles campsite. Walk through the historic center, past the cathedral and explore the winding paths in the city's parks. Belcastel is a little further away. It seems as if you are stepping into a lifelike fairytale book here. Book an organized tour where you can learn all about the history of the castle and see the medieval armor and weaponry.
Brousse-le-Château is located about 20 km from the campsite. Walk over the Gothic bridge over the Alrance and dive into the medieval village. The stone houses are richly decorated with flowers. The next stop is Brousse Castle. Cool off along the way, then go for a paddle in the Tarn River.
Visit the regional natural park "Parc des Grands Causses", one of the largest in France, where you can undertake numerous activities. Admire many caves, arid limestone plateaus and subterranean rivers here. Activities you can undertake here include canoeing, kayaking, canyoning and mountain climbing. There are also several hiking trails that pass through this area and introduce you to lavognes (puddles), jasses (sheep pens), cazelles (dry stone houses) and mas (traditional houses) as well as fountains, the dolmens and the unprecedented flora and fauna.
A beautiful drive takes you to the architectural wonder: Viaduc de Milau. It is one of the largest bridges in the world with the highest point at 343 meters. The bridge is only supported on 9 points in the Tarn valley. Next to this attraction there is a parking lot with a beautiful view of the bridge. Combine the bridge with a visit to the city of Milau, the city of art and history and the gateway to the "Gorges du Tarn".
Finally, don't forget to get acquainted with the local gastronomy. You can order charcuterie with ham and (dried) sausage on the terraces in the nearby villages. Or enjoy several cheeses such as 'le Bleu des Causses', l'aligot' and 'les caves de Roquefort'. The 'la Truffade' is also recommended.
