Medium-sized family campsite on the Escoutay River

Campsite Le Medieval is a quietly located 3-star campsite in the French region of Ardèche. This elongated terrain is situated on the Escoutay River and is surrounded by mountains, forests and a rocky beach. The campsite is a mile away from the picturesque village of Saint-Thomé and only a half-hour drive from the Roman town of Montélimar.

You will be warmly welcomed at this hospitable campsite: owners Lynda and Arlette will welcome you with open arms. Le Medieval is located - in a valley - on the banks of the Escoutay river. You can swim and canoe and more at the campsite, making it the ideal place for true water lovers! From the swimming pool and restaurant you have a beautiful view of the steep rock walls and historic buildings. The campsite is divided with shrubs and lanes and stands between bushes and trees.

Activities

The campsite has a large outdoor swimming pool of no less than 100 m², where you can enjoy and relax on a sun lounger. The swimming pool is open until 8 p.m. Campsite Le Medieval has also a separate children's pool of 50 m². There is also fishing available at the campsite, but a permit is required. The campsite terrace is surrounded by trees and there is also a children's playground and a large playing field at Le Medieval. You can also play billiards and table tennis and you can rent bicycles and mountain bikes through the campsite.

For the kids, the mini club is open every day in high season - from the beginning of July to the end of September. It is bilingual or the children's convenience. For all children between three and ten years old there are activities such as face painting, disco dancing, swimming and crafts. Teenagers enjoy themselves in the teen club, which runs from the beginning of July to the end of September. During the day all kinds of fun activities and workshops are organized at the campsite: from boxing initiation, a game of table football, archaeological excavations to jeu de boules and a even a helicopter flight above the Gorges de l’Ardèche. In the evening there are various live shows, disco evenings and various activities. In short: something for everyone!

Moreover, you can join us on all kinds of special excursions! You can rent a family canoe at the campsite to explore the area from the water and the historic village of Vallon-Pont-d’Arc is just 45 minutes away. In this village you will find yourself in the Middle Ages for a while ... You are also thirty kilometers away from Carverne du Pont-d’Arc, the oldest decorated cave on the UNESCO World Heritage List. You can also discover a part of ViaRhôna, the longest cycle route along the Rhone, from the campsite.

Services & Facilities

Le Medieval also has a bar and a restaurant, the perfect place to try delicious traditional regional dishes from the beginning of May to the end of September. Restaurant guests can also use WiFi for free for half an hour. How about the delicious ice creams from Terra adéliche? There is also a take-away service at the campsite and delicious pizzas are available at the pizzeria. In addition, there is also a small supermarket in the park, where you can get delicious fresh bread in the morning.

You cannot miss the Pont-d’Arc, with its beautiful waters, UNESCO caverns and valleys. The Gorges de l'Ardèche can be visited on foot, by bike, by car and in a chopper.
